2 – Tacy Family Lineage

The Oregon Tacy’s came from Michigan (1800’s) to Indiana, then Ohio and through Stettler, Alberta, Canada, finally residing in Oregon in the early 1900’s.

Research shows strong ancestry to England & Germany.

Lucinda Putnam’s (1834-1913) ancestry likely linked to a well documented Putnam line that decends from the keepers or tenants of the estate of Puttenham in the 900’s.  This Putnam family came to America in 1647.

**Our Putnam line is not likely to be direct decendants of the Putnams indicated in the Salem Witch Trials. Although we are likely cousins from an offshoot of the branch from the 1300’s.

3 – Civil War

John Shideler (1819-1863) served in the Civil War, Michigan 19th Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company A.  Her did a POW in Libby Prison, Richmond, VA.  He is the grandson of Peter Shideler (1751-1830). < See #4 >

4 – Revolutionary War

Peter Shideler (1751-1830) served in the Pennsylvania Militia during the Revolutionary War, under the command of Captain George Miars.  Peter is the son of Johann Jorg Shideler of Hanau, Hesse, Germany.

5 – Early Colonists

Thomas Putnam (1623-abt.1647) of Chesham, Bucks, England came to Virginia aboard the sailing ship Increase.  He fathered the Putnams/Putmans of Virginia.
