Great Make Ahead
After trying to find a simple tomato sauce that could be whipped up at a moments notice, I came up with this – a base of tomatoes, garlic & white wine.
This recipe is made from ingredients that can be found in your cupboard year-round and feel free to use either fresh or canned tomatoes. (We use Contadina Whole Peeled Tomatoes in the giant can – Sam’s Club, $3 and a bright Pinot Gris by J Vineyards, $12, http://www.jwine.com/en/Wines/Pinot-Gris/J-Pinot-Gris-California)
This recipe freezes great – as most tomato sauces do – so if you like it, make the group recipe and freeze a few servings for later!
